Grok Bot

Grok Bot is xAI's early-beta agent platform for delegating browser and desktop workflows to persistent AI teammates. It is best for teams willing to supervise automation that logs into real tools; access starts with eligible Cursor or SuperGrok plans.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is an early-beta AI-agent product from SpaceXAI LLC. Unlike a chat assistant that only returns text, a Bot has its own computer and is intended to work inside the websites and apps you already use. You give it a task in a conversation, authenticate the services it needs, review sensitive moments, and receive a completed result or a request for approval.

The product is aimed at repeatable knowledge-work workflows: researching target accounts, preparing a review queue, working through a support queue, gathering a weekly report, reproducing a bug, or coordinating multi-step work across tools. xAI says Bots can run in parallel, retain working context, and use routines learned from a demonstrated workflow. That makes Grok Bot a different category from Grok, which is the general-purpose chat assistant. The trade-off is meaningful: an agent operating a real computer can be useful, but it also deserves the same access discipline you would use for a new teammate or contractor.

How Grok Bot works

Each Bot is assigned a job and a task through the Grok Bot desktop or iOS experience. It operates on a dedicated computer rather than taking over your laptop, according to xAI's product materials. You can log the Bot into a web app, tell it what outcome you need, and follow its progress. When work requires judgment or approval, the product is designed to bring you back into the loop.

For recurring work, the product also supports routines: you perform a workflow once while the Bot follows along, then reuse the saved process later. Multiple Bots can be placed in the same thread so that research, communication, and execution work can be divided across roles. Those capabilities are promising for operations teams, but they are not a reason to turn off review. Start with read-only tasks, narrow permissions, a test account, and outputs that are easy to audit.

Best use cases

  • Sales and account research: collect public account context, organize it into a reviewable brief, and prepare a first-pass outreach list.
  • Customer support operations: help triage a queue or assemble draft responses while a human retains the final send decision.
  • Reporting and internal ops: gather recurring inputs from approved systems, reconcile them, and prepare a weekly report for review.
  • Product and engineering support: follow documented reproduction steps, collect evidence, and hand a structured bug report back to the team.
  • Personal admin: turn a repeatable, low-risk browser workflow into a supervised routine.

Grok Bot is a weaker fit for irreversible actions, work that requires privileged production access, tasks with unclear success criteria, or any workflow where a human cannot review the output before it creates a financial, legal, security, or customer-facing consequence.

Access, pricing, and availability

At the time of this review (August 2026), xAI labels Grok Bot an early beta. Its official pricing page lists it with eligible Cursor, SuperGrok, and Cursor Teams plans rather than as a separate standalone subscription. The lowest listed individual path is Cursor Pro at $20 per month; SuperGrok begins at $30 per month; Cursor Teams Standard is listed at $40 per seat per month. Included usage and limits vary by plan, and xAI may change beta access or pricing, so confirm the live plan details before purchasing.

Grok Bot is available through its desktop app, with iOS referenced in xAI's product page. Use the official Grok Bot page for current eligibility, downloads, and sales contact. For a practical rollout checklist, see Vantaige's Grok Bot guide.

Security and operating advice

A Bot may need to sign into real services to do useful work. That changes the risk profile from ordinary AI chat. Keep the initial scope small, avoid sharing credentials in prompts, use role-based accounts where possible, and do not grant access beyond the narrow task. Require human review for sends, purchases, data deletion, permission changes, exports containing sensitive data, and any external publication. Maintain an audit trail of the task, inputs, actions, and final output.

Before adopting it in a team, ask xAI directly about the retention, isolation, audit, administrator, and enterprise controls relevant to your environment. Do not infer compliance certifications or security guarantees from a beta product page. The best early deployment is deliberately boring: a clearly bounded routine with a human owner and a measurable definition of done.

Grok Bot vs. Grok

Grok is the general AI assistant for asking questions, drafting, analysis, and model-driven work. Grok Bot is the agent layer intended to carry out a multi-step workflow on its own computer after you provide access and instructions. If you only need an answer, a draft, or help thinking through a task, start with Grok or another chat assistant. Consider Grok Bot when the value is in completing repeatable tool work and you can safely supervise it.

Our take

Grok Bot is notable because it moves from “AI that advises” toward “AI that works in the tools.” The product is most compelling for operators who can define a repeatable process, limit permissions, and evaluate the result. It is not a hands-off replacement for responsible judgment, and beta availability means prospective users should validate reliability, billing, and security controls with a small pilot before giving it broad access.
