Domain Rating checker
Look up a domain's Domain Rating, see what the number means in plain language, and find out whether the domain is already in our directory list.
How to read a Domain Rating
Domain Rating is a score from 0 to 100 published by a link index provider. It summarises how many other sites point to a domain and how strong those sites look in the same index. It is not a Google metric, it is not a traffic estimate, and it does not say whether a site is any good. A shop with no links can still have loyal customers, and a heavily linked site can be abandoned.
The useful comparison is relative and local. Put your domain beside three or four competitors and see where it sits. Then look at directories in your category and compare them with each other. A number on its own rarely changes a decision; the ranking of five numbers usually does.
The provider returns a date with the score, and this page shows it. A score from a year ago is a description of a different site. When a directory is in our list, the result also shows its link type and price, because that is the part you can act on. A link from a directory is one small input; it does not promise a ranking position or traffic.
Frequently asked questions
Is Domain Rating a Google metric?
No. Domain Rating is a third party estimate of how strong a site's link profile looks in that provider's own index. Google does not publish a score like it, so treat the number as one view of a site, not a verdict from a search engine.
Why does the score differ from another checker?
Each provider crawls a different set of pages and normalises the result against its own scale. Even the same provider changes over time as it finds or drops links. Compare a number with the date it was measured before you compare two numbers with each other.
What does a high Domain Rating on a directory mean for my listing?
It describes the directory's own site, not your page. A strong directory is more likely to be crawled often, but it still has to accept the submission, publish the page and link to you. The listing's link type and position matter as much as the directory's score.
Why are live checks sometimes unavailable?
The rating comes from an external provider. When our key is not configured or the provider is not answering, the tool says so instead of inventing a number. The directory list match is computed from our own data and keeps working.
Do you keep a history of the domains I check?
No history is stored. A result is held in memory for a day so a repeat check does not call the provider again, and rate limiting stores a counter keyed to your connection, not to the domain.
