Create (create.xyz) is an AI app builder that turns text prompts into full-stack web and mobile apps. It handles databases, auth, payments, and App Store submission without code. Founded in 2021, backed by Bessemer Venture Partners.
Create, operating at create.xyz and now also branded as "Anything" at createanything.com, is an AI-powered full-stack app builder founded in 2021 by Dhruv Amin and Marcus Lowe, two former Google and YouTube product managers based in San Francisco. The platform converts plain-English descriptions into complete web and mobile applications, handling the entire stack: frontend UI, backend logic, PostgreSQL databases, authentication, payments via Stripe, hosting, and as of August 2025, direct one-click publishing to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is aimed at non-technical founders, solopreneurs, and product leaders who need working software without hiring an engineering team.
Create's most concrete differentiator is its integrations library: 40+ one-click connectors spanning AI models (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini), communication tools (Resend), data services (web scraper, PDF parser, Google Maps), payment infrastructure (Stripe), and UI component systems (shadcn/ui, Chakra UI). Users add these through a chat command rather than writing API code. The platform provisions PostgreSQL databases via Neon with sub-second spin-up, supports multi-model switching so the agent can call OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google backends depending on the task, and includes a visual QA and automated testing layer on the Max plan. It also pairs well with other tools in the space: many builders use it alongside v0 by Vercel for UI prototyping, or combine it with Lovable when polished designer-grade output is needed.
What Create actually does in June 2026
Create functions as an autonomous agent that builds, tests, and deploys applications from a single conversation thread. You describe what you want (a recipe subscription app with user accounts, saved favorites, and a Stripe paywall, for example), and the platform generates frontend components, a database schema, authentication flows, and a hosted deployment, typically in under 10 minutes. The agent can iterate based on follow-up prompts: "make the dashboard dark mode" or "add an export to CSV button" are processed as refinements without rebuilding from scratch.
On the Max plan, the agent runs parallel execution threads to handle multiple components simultaneously, and a visual QA layer reviews generated UI before surfacing it to the user. Real-time error logs (also Max-tier) let you see exactly where the agent encountered a problem and what it did to fix it. For mobile, Create now offers direct App Store and Google Play submission from the dashboard, with no Xcode, React Native expertise, or Mac required. This is a meaningful gap it fills: most competitors stop at web deployment.
The integrations catalog is the day-to-day differentiator for non-technical users. Where competing tools require a developer to wire up an API or configure a Supabase project, Create surfaces common integrations as one-click additions inside the chat. Need Google Maps in your app? You click it from the panel. Need PDF generation? Same. The connectors include SEO keyword data, web scraping, email validation, chart rendering, book search, basketball stats APIs, and more. It is a genuinely useful catalog for internal tools and consumer micro-SaaS projects.
"It has a more generous free tier and has an easy way to add a huge amount of integrations at the click of a button." - Alex Thomas, Product Hunt, September 2023
"Everyone's asking who's the next major AI coding agent. We think it's whoever becomes the Shopify for software." - Marcus Lowe, co-founder, TechFundingNews, August 14, 2025
Where Create sits versus v0 (Vercel) and Bolt.new
The text-to-app market has three dominant reference points for comparison: v0 by Vercel, Bolt.new, and Lovable. Create sits in a distinct position that becomes clear once you look at what each tool actually generates rather than how it markets itself.
v0 generates React UI components only. It uses Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui and produces styled component code that you paste into an existing project. It has no backend capability: no database provisioning, no auth, no deployment pipeline. v0 is a UI fragment generator for developers who already have a project structure. Create generates the full application. If you need to ship something functional for a non-technical user to click through, v0 alone will not do it. Create will. The architectural scope is not the same category.
Bolt.new is closer to Create in ambition: it produces full-stack applications in a browser-based environment with a visible terminal and file tree. Bolt supports multiple frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js, Remix, Astro) and gives developers direct access to code. Its primary database integration is Supabase. Bolt is code-first and developer-centric: if you want to read, edit, and own every file, Bolt is more transparent. Create abstracts infrastructure away, managing it through prompts and a dashboard. The practical difference for non-technical users is significant: Bolt rewards developers who are comfortable reading error messages in a terminal. Create rewards users who want infrastructure to disappear. Create also offers App Store deployment; Bolt does not. Bolt edges Create on framework flexibility and code control; Create edges Bolt on accessibility and mobile publishing.
Against Lovable, Create holds up on integrations breadth and mobile publishing but is generally considered slightly behind on raw UI quality: Lovable's generated interfaces are closer to designer-grade, with cleaner alignment and more polished interaction details. Lovable also adds Visual Edits (drag-to-reposition, credit-free), which Create does not have at comparable granularity. The trade-off: Create's integrations library is more extensive and its mobile pipeline is more mature.
What the agent workflow reality looks like
In practice, using Create involves a chat interface where you describe features, review generated output in a preview pane, and iterate. The agent handles backend provisioning silently: your PostgreSQL database appears, your Stripe keys get wired, your auth system is live, all from descriptive prompts. For the majority of internal tools, landing pages with forms, subscription micro-SaaS products, and simple mobile utilities, this works well.
The friction starts at complexity. When a generated component has a bug, the agent enters a self-correction loop. The loop works roughly 97% of the time on typical bugs, per Create's own documentation. The other 3% is where users hit trouble: the agent can cycle through credit-consuming fix attempts without resolving the issue. On the Free plan (3,000 credits per month) and even the Pro plan (20,000 credits), users building large apps with complex logic have reported exhausting their credit budget before completing a project. Once you are out of credits, the app is not broken, but you cannot make further AI-assisted changes until the next billing cycle.
The August 2025 rebranding from create.xyz to createanything.com also surfaced a real-world friction point: existing users with projects on the old domain discovered those projects could not be edited without migration, and the transition happened without advance notice according to multiple Trustpilot reviewers. This is a meaningful reliability signal for anyone building a business-critical tool on the platform.
Who Create is built for
Create is strongest for four user types. First, the non-technical solo founder building a first product: someone with a concrete idea, no developer budget, and a need to show something clickable to investors or early users within days. Create delivers that faster than any traditional no-code tool, and faster than trying to prompt-engineer a developer environment from scratch.
Second, the product manager or designer who needs to prototype with real data. Create's database provisioning and auth layer mean you can build a testable prototype that actually logs in, stores records, and handles payments, not just a clickable Figma mockup. This is genuinely useful for product validation.
Third, the indie developer or side-project builder who wants to ship a mobile app without learning Swift or maintaining a React Native codebase. Create's App Store submission pipeline, announced in August 2025 as the first of its kind among AI builders, is a real workflow accelerator for this persona.
Fourth, small teams building internal tools: trackers, dashboards, calculators, form processors, and lightweight CRMs. Create's integrations library covers the connectors most internal tools need (Google Maps, email validation, PDF generation, data search), and the hosted deployment means there is no infrastructure to manage.
What Create is not
Create is not a replacement for a professional engineering team on a complex, regulated, or enterprise-scale product. The platform does not natively support role-based access control (RBAC), single sign-on (SSO), audit logs, or the security compliance frameworks that enterprise procurement requires. Generated code is real and exportable, but it is structured for speed of generation, not for long-term maintainability by a developer team. Users who need to hand off a Create-built app to engineers will likely need a refactoring pass.
Create is also not the right tool if you need precise control over infrastructure: there is no CI/CD pipeline, no choice of cloud hosting provider, no custom server configuration. The platform abstracts these decisions away, which is a feature for its target audience and a hard limit for teams with specific compliance or deployment requirements. Similarly, if pixel-perfect UI design is critical, Create's output requires careful prompting to achieve precise layouts. For that use case, Lovable or a dedicated design tool will serve better. And if budget is tight, the credit system means complex projects can become expensive: the gap between the Free tier (3,000 credits) and what a medium-complexity app actually consumes is significant.
