EDITORIAL PROCESS
How we evaluate AI tools
Independent. Hands-on. Updated quarterly.
Standards
Vantaige is an editorial directory. Tools featured here are evaluated by humans, not pulled from generic feeds. We commit to four principles:
- Hands-on testing. Every tool we review has been used by our team for at least one real workflow before publication.
- Independent ranking. Editorial coverage is never sold or traded. Sponsored placements, when they exist, are clearly labeled as such.
- Quarterly refresh. Tools change fast. We re-verify pricing, features, and availability for top-listed tools every 90 days. The "Last verified" date on each entry tells you when.
- Disclosure of affiliate links. Some links here are affiliate links. We earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full list.
What gets included
To be listed on Vantaige, a tool must:
- Be a publicly accessible product (free tier or paid trial available)
- Solve a workflow problem we cover (writing, code, design, video, audio, research, sales, marketing, ops, or a related domain)
- Have been live in production for at least 30 days
- Provide working documentation or onboarding that lets a new user reach value within an hour
We do not list: vaporware, abandoned projects, or tools that gate basic features behind sales calls without any self-serve option.
How we rank
Our default sort blends three signals:
- Editorial score, set by the Vantaige team after hands-on use
- User ratings, average of community reviews
- Recency, weighted so actively maintained tools surface above stale ones
Trending and Top sections use additional time-decay weighting. Sponsored placements, when present, are clearly labeled and never replace the organic ranking.
Corrections and feedback
If you spot something wrong: a tool that no longer exists, a price that has changed, or a missing feature, let us know via the contact form. We typically update within 5 business days.
Tool builders: if you want to update your listing, use the listing form. Edits are reviewed by an editor before going live.
